Biography
Scott is primarily known for his beautiful bronze animals and figures drawing inspiration from Celtic mythology and literature.
“I come from a farming background, so animals have always been a source of inspiration. They possess a sense of timelessness, unaffected by changing fashions. They’ve appeared in art from the earliest cave paintings – I like to think I’m continuing this tradition.”

Anthony Scott was born in rural County Fermanagh in 1968.
In 1988 he attended university in Belfast gaining a first class degree. He went on to complete an MA in ceramics in Cardiff in 1993. University gave him the confidence to pursue an artistic career. Bronze has been an important development for him, allowing him to create more expansive pieces.

Scott has been a regular annual participant at the Royal Hibernian Academy and has exhibited extensively in Ireland, the UK and at numerous international art fairs. In May 2011, HM Queen Elizabeth II unveiled a new sculpture entitled ‘See the Stars’ by Anthony Scott at the Irish National Stud in Kildare. His work is also included in the public collections of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the Barbican Centre, London, the Crafts Council of Ireland, the US Ambassador’s Residence in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, Kelly’s Hotel Rosslare and in numerous important private collections.
