Artist Statement -
My main interest in ceramics is the research of glazes and their application on a large surface of thrown porcelain. I am fascinated to experiment with different ingredients and materials to find new colours and textures. The main inspiration comes from the family of oriental glazes called ‘Oil Spot Glazes’. I throw classic and simple shapes, intensively pursuing a well balanced and proportioned volume with a very special interest on the large ceramic vessels due to their statement and cultural connotations intrinsically attached to the history of humanity that the shape of the vessel possesses.
